Like buying multiple chairs in one
Papasan chairs have been popular in the United States ever since the 1960s, when they were first introduced. Made of a round, bowl-like seat and a slightly angled, drum-shaped base, a papasan chair is more versatile than any other piece of furniture you'll find. With the separation of bowl and base, you're able to adjust the seat at many different angles to find the perfect arrangement for your comfort - and readjust it on a whim. Papasan chairs are so popular, in fact, that they've branched into bigger and smaller styles. A mamasan chair is wider - an ideal fit for two. Junior papasans are great for kids, and there are even new baby papasans (or babysans) in the form of swings and bouncers, that are just right for your infant. You can find a papasan size to fit everyone in your family.
Without a cushion, it's just a bowl
The main component of comfort in your papasan chair is the cushion. Most papasans come with a separate cushion, which allows you to mix and match and accommodate any decor. Papasan cushions are shaped to fit your chair and cover the bowl of the seat for comfort. Most cushions are stitched around the edges, stuffed, and most use buttons spaced throughout the center of the cushion to ensure durability. Stuffing size varies in thickness, and is a personal preference. Some cushions come with Velcro straps to attach the cushion to the base, and almost all cushions are reversible. In addition, you can use papasan cushions independent of the chair itself, making them popular for not only chair use but as floor pillows and pet beds.
Find one that fits
You can find cushion designs in all colors of the rainbow, and in hundreds of patterns. In addition, you can find cushions in a variety of fabric styles (suede, chenille, and denim to name a few), allowing you to not only choose a color and pattern to go with your home decor, but a specific look and texture, as well. To add even more versatility, we also offer cushion covers - an inexpensive way to vary the look and style of your papasan chair.
